Qargchal reservoir; Mazandaran leopard and brown bear habitat

About a few days ago, at the suggestion of one of my friends named Mohammadreza Mohammadzadeh, I decided to travel to this dream reservoir.

Mohammadreza himself is a child of this area and is fully aware of the conditions and environment here; Mantehi did not know that after traveling here, I am going to introduce this place to others. It has happened to me before that I see Iranians who are trying very hard to preserve their place of residence, which makes people happy, and they try to prevent the destruction of their environment, of course, by very stupid people.

In short, before we start, let me tell you that **this area is apart from Qiasar National Park; The habitat of the Mazandaran leopard and the brown bear. ** Unfortunately, they are in the process of extinction and they are trying hard to restore the habitat of these animals, and we, as tourists, must take care of their habitat.

Qargchal Balade reservoir

Qarqchal reservoir is located in Baladeh village and on the southern slope of Shahdezh peak in Mazandaran province. This reservoir is one of the natural and tourist attractions of this region and it is about 48 km from Sari and 275 km from Tehran. Qarqchal Reservoir is located in the middle of mountains and green forests, and to reach it, you have to go through the side and rural roads to reach the village of Baladeh Sari and from there walk towards this beautiful reservoir. This reservoir is rectangular and has an area of ​​about 50 x 100 meters, which is almost the size of a football field.

The path to Qargchal reservoir:

To reach Qargchal Balade water reservoir, you have to move from Sari towards Kiasar. Then take the side road to Baladeh village. There is about 10 kilometers of dirt road from the village to the reservoir, which can be crossed by cars, but due to the unfavorable condition of the road, we recommend that you travel this road with off-road vehicles or native vans.

You can travel to this area by car, bus or train. If you are traveling by car, be sure to check the route in advance and find out about the traffic situation.

How to access:

1. From Langar village: it is closed ⛔

2. From the entrance of Vausar village: 10 km after Talmadera police station. The beginning of the road is paved, but 15 km from Vausar, Mirafazl, Tila Ben, the bottom ten to the top is dirt, with a steep slope in some places. The last 3 kilometers from Baladeh village to the "Qarqchal" reservoir, the road is not suitable for driving

3. From the entrance of Kiasar and the villages of Lala and Khalred and after the villages of Ilal, Siavashkala and Aghuzgale, where the road is paved. And almost 10 kilometers of Khakiyeh road. (more suitable road)

My opinion about the trip to the Qarqchal reservoir is high

In general, I think this reservoir is a beautiful destination for nature lovers who can enjoy the beautiful view of mountains and dense forests.

1. Very clean and beautiful water catchment with clean air
2. Paradise on the slopes of Shah Dej
3. The dirt road is rough, but it is possible to ride
4. The first path is misleading and you should be careful not to make a mistake

• This area is more crowded on holidays and weekends.
• If you are looking for peace and solitude, weekdays are more suitable times to travel to this area.
